Since 2016, Aesther Ekme has been creating collections of leather handbags featuring clean and simple curves and lines. With its logo-free aesthetic and sculpturally brutalist designs, the brand brings a sense of quiet determination that gives its pieces a remarkable edge. Among the Crimean Tatars, "Ekme" describes a traditional bag worn on the shoulder while "Aesther" refers to the concept of classicism. This classicism lies close to the heart of its founder Stephane Park, of Brazilian and Korean descent, who aims to "work in fashion without following trends". After graduating with a Masters in Leather Accessories at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, her functional handbags saw her quickly achieve success, drawing inspiration from the sophisticated minimalism of her adopted country, as well as from everyday life.
